I've been a fan of the Star Wars franchise since the theatrical release of Episode IV – before it was called A New Hope. With music rattling the walls I like creating rough sketches with a Sharpie. It's as much a creative warmup as a "let's see what happens." Keeping it loose, I try to find the magic by drawing shapes, lines and curves to see what emerges from the blank space. For Time To Roll, all the basic elements are there – BB-8, Rey and the TIE fighters. I could see the potential. It is balanced and dynamic. With a solid composition, I gathered the reference I needed and the fun began.
